We are not in the business of selling your data. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and what we do with it. Short version: the minimum possible.
StrangrChat is intended exclusively for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact support@strangr.chat and we will delete it promptly.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of StrangrChat at www.strangr.chat ā whether you have a registered account, are using a guest session, or are just browsing our public pages.
When you use StrangrChat, we may collect: Account data: email address, display name, username, date of birth confirmation, country, gender (optional), profile photo (optional). Usage data: pages visited, features used, session timestamps, IP address (used for abuse prevention, not profiling), device/browser type. Chat data: messages sent through the platform are temporarily processed to deliver them in real time. We do not store persistent chat logs beyond what is technically required for session delivery. Payment data: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by our third-party processor (LemonSqueezy). We never see or store your full card number.
We do not: ā¢ Sell your personal data to third parties ā ever ā¢ Use your messages to train AI or machine learning models ā¢ Track you across other websites ā¢ Share your data with advertisers for targeted ads ā¢ Store chat history beyond active session requirements
Your data is used only to: ā¢ Create and manage your account ā¢ Deliver the matching and chat features ā¢ Send important service emails (e.g. password reset) ā¢ Prevent abuse, spam, and violations of our Terms ā¢ Process subscription payments ā¢ Improve the platform via anonymised analytics
We use a small number of trusted third parties to run the platform: ā¢ Supabase ā database and authentication hosting ā¢ LemonSqueezy ā subscription payment processing ā¢ OpenRouter ā powers certain platform features (server-side only) ā¢ Vercel ā hosting and CDN Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and we choose them carefully. We do not use advertising platforms that would track your behaviour across the web.
We use session cookies strictly to keep you logged in. We use browser localStorage/sessionStorage to remember your preferences (e.g. last used filter). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised usage analytics may be retained longer for platform improvement purposes.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: ā¢ Access the personal data we hold about you ā¢ Request correction of inaccurate data ā¢ Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten") ā¢ Object to certain processing ā¢ Export your data in a portable format To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@strangr.chat. We will respond within 30 days.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data ā encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. That said, no system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password and let us know immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use after those changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
